Saturday’s 80’s Countdown: JULY 4, 1987
8 am – noon

In July of 1987, just like today, the weather was a big story. It was when the Edmonton tornado hit. The F4 tornado killed 27 people and damages to property were over 330 million dollars. On a lighter note, Boy George was barred from a British TV show because he might have been a bad influence. On the radio in early July of 1987, Bon Jovi and Whitney Houston were in Casey’s Top 40 countdown.

 

 

Sunday’s 70’s Countdown: JULY 9, 1977
8 am – 11 am

In July of 1977 the 10th James Bond movie was released- The Spy Who Loved Me. New York City had their big power blackout that lasted 25 hours. The city saw massive looting that resulted in the largest mass arrest in their history with 3700 people charged. The looting and store damage came to over 300 million dollars. On this week in 1977, Fleetwood Mac and Heart were in Casey Kasem’s Top 40 countdown.
