The cover of Rolling Stone in June 1988 featured Canadian Neil Young. Interest rates were 10% and you could buy a new Ford Taurus for $11.0000. In 1988 Canadian runner Ben Johnson won an Olympic gold medal but has disqualified for steroid use. On the radio this late spring week in 1988, Johnny Hates Jazz and Def Leppard were in Casey’s Top 40 countdown.

 

 

Sunday’s 70’s Countdown: JUNE 7, 1975
8 am – 11 am

One of the biggest movies of all time was released in June of 1975- Jaws. McDonald’s opened their first drive-thru restaurant, and newspaper advice columnist Anne Landers announced she was divorcing her husband of 36 years! In June of 1975, Casey featured Earth, Wind and Fire and Van McCoy on the weekly Top 40 countdown.
