8 am – noon

In April of 1985, Wayne Gretzky scored 7 points in a playoff game, for the second time in his career. Wham became the first western pop band to release an album in China. New Coke was released around the world and was then dropped 2 month later after a consumer backlash. On the radio this spring week in 1985, Tears for Fears and Wham were in Casey’s Top 40 countdown.



Sunday’s 70’s Countdown: April 19, 1975
8 am – 11 am

April of 1975 saw the Americans evacuating the city of Saigon as North Vietnamese troops were closing in. Within days the city was taken over and this was the end of American involvement in the Vietnam war. Microsoft was founded in April 1975, and on the radio, Minnie Riperton and Ace were in Casey Kasem’s Top 40 countdown.
