Three teachers in Sussex have been given the Governor General’s History Award for teaching excellance.
Lisa Sheppard, Catherine Morneault and Dr. Brian Clancy of Sussex Middle School were honoured for their efforts to bring the Battle of Vimy Ridge to life for their students.
Clancy, a history teacher, with Sheppard and Morneault, who are french language arts teachers, partnered to get their students involved in producing a book on Vimy Ridge which has made it’s way onto the shelves from the 8th Hussars Regimental Museum to Buckingham Palace.
