Saint John Water isn’t ruling out a boil order for residents if the dry weather persists. THe utlity is asking residents to reduce their water usage, especially those in the city’s east end.
Water levels have been dropping at the city’s three watersheds…Spruce Lake, Latimer Lake and Loch Lomond lake.
Saint John Water Commissioner Brent McGovern says with little precipitation in the forecast, the utility is concerned. Low water levels are exposing natural sediment and making water cloudy, which he says could prompt a boil order. They’re keeping a close eye on the situation.
