Elsie Wayne, whose love never diminished for what she called the “greatest little city in the east”, has passed away.

Saint John-Rothesay MP Wayne Long says the city of Saint John has lost one of its greatest champions.
Former Premier Frank McKenna called Wayne one of the last of the large political personalities in Canada. Despite the occasional controversy, the staunch Tory retired from politics in 2004 never having lost an election.
