HSBC Bank is closing its branch at Market Square in January. That will leave only one HSBC branch in the province…in Fredericton.

The bank will hold an information session for its customers October 6th to explain the closure…and options for those customers. Spokesperson Aurora Bonin told the Telegraph-Journal the closure is the result of a shift in the needs of its customers away from brick and mortar locations. They will still be able to do their banking online or by phone.

Five employees will be affected.
