Well water study

A major study of private well water in possible fracking areas has been released.  The New Brunswick Energy Institute commissioned it with UNB doing the study in the Central, Kent, Shediac and Sussex areas.  434 wells were studied and found with dissolved methane found in 55% of them.  99% had concentrations less than 10 mg/L and aren’t of concern.  Sussex had the highest concentration at 28.9 mg/L. However there was no correlation drawn between methane concentration and proximity to oil or natural gas wells.
