Saint John Water Not Ruling Out Boil Order
Saint John Water isn’t ruling out a boil order for residents as dry weather persists.
The utility is asking residents to reduce their water usage, especially those in the city’s east end.
Water levels have been dropping at the city’s three watersheds – Spruce Lake, Latimer Lake and Loch Lomond.
Saint John water commissioner Brent McGovern says with little precipitation in the long range forecast, the utility is concerned.
Low water levels are bringing up more naturally-occurring sediment, which is causing some cloudiness and could lead to a boil order.
