Flood insurance update
The assistant deputy minister responsible for E-M-O says he will be looking into some numbers released by the Insurance Bureau of Canada this week.
The Telegraph-Journal reports it says 42,000 homeowners in the province no longer qualify for disaster relief because of new insurance products available to them….but many don’t have insurance. Michael Comeau said he was surprised by that number and will be following up on it. Comeau told a legislature committee E-M-O has no interest in seeing people caught without any form of assistance in the event of flooding.
