Simon and Garfunkel reunited for a concert in New York’s central park in September of 1981.The first DeLorean car rolled off the assembly lines in Northern Ireland. Charles and Diana’s wedding attracted over 750 million on television. Foreigner continued to roll out the hits in the late summer of 1981, as did the Commodores.



Sunday’s 70’s Countdown: SEPTEMBER 8, 1973
8 am – 11 am

The first hand held cellphone call is made and Billie Jean King beats Bobby Riggs in the famous “Battle of the Sexes” tennis match. The Young and the Restless starts on TV. As we enjoyed the late summer of 1973, The Stories had a classic and Gilbert O’Sullivan was on the Top 40.
