Saturday’s 80’s Countdown: JULY 16, 1988
8 am – noon

1988 saw Canada host its first ever Winter Olympics in Calgary. Top movies included Rain Man, Beetlejuice and A Fish Called Wanda. On the radio this week in 1988, INXS and Def Leppard were in Casey’s Top 40 countdown.



Sunday’s 70’s Countdown: JULY 14, 1973
8 am – 11 am

The Young and the Restless starts on TV. The first hand held cellphone call is made and Billie Jean King beats Bobby Riggs in the famous “Battle of the Sexes” tennis match. As we enjoyed the summer of 1973, Deep Purple had a classic and the Doobie Brothers were on the Top 40.
