Saturday’s 80’s Countdown: JUNE 15, 1985
8 am – noon

1985 saw the internet’s domain name system created along with the UK’s first cellular mobile network. Back to the Future was released. The Live Aid concert was broadcast round the world. As the summer of 1985 approached, we were Walking on Sunshine and listening to the Eurythmics.

 

 

Sunday’s 70’s Countdown: JUNE 11, 1977
8 am – 11 am

1977 saw Pierre Trudeau separate from his wife Margaret Sinclair. TV shows that came to an end included Pig and Whistle and Howie Meeker’s Hockey School. Apple Computer was incorporated. Star Wars opened in movie theatres. Elvis Presley performed his last concert on June 26th and died in August. KC and the Sunshine continued pumping out the hits, as we also heard from Andrew Gold.
