It was the year of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. Expo 86 was happening in Vancouver and people watched the wedding of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. On the radio, catchy dance songs by Nu Shooz and the Miami Sound Machine were in the Top 40 in the spring of 1986



Sunday’s 70’s Countdown: MAY 27, 1978
8 am – 11 am

We have come a long way from 1978. This was the year that the new immigration act stated that homosexuals were no longer on the list of the “inadmissible class.” New movies in 1978 included Grease and Animal House while TV welcomed a few new shows like WKRP and Dallas. The Trammps and the Bee Gees were 2 of the artists featured on the Top 40 this week in 1978.
