Saturday’s 80’s Countdown: APRIL 18, 1987
8 am – noon

Ronald Reagan tells Mikhail Gorbachev to tear down the Berlin Wall. We said goodbye to paper one dollar bills as the Loonie was introduced. On the medical front, Prozac, the anti-depressant was added to approved drug lists. Cyndi Lauper does a great job on a classic and Lou Gramm rocks it in this week’s Top 40.



Sunday’s 70’s Countdown: APRIL 17, 1971
8 am – 11 am

Pierre Trudeau made the headlines a lot in 1971. His infamous “Fuddle Duddle” line and getting married to Margaret Sinclair were 2 highlights. Canada’s population was 21 million. Hurricane Beth hit the Maritimes. Walt Disney World opened in Florida and popular TV shows included Mary Tyler Moore and the Partridge Family. On the radio, we were listening to a huge hit by Tom Jones and Ike and Tina Turner.
